Hypnosis is the process of working with the subconscious mind to enhance health and well-being. Because the subconscious mind is responsible for automatic processes in the body, ingrained habits and patterns must be accessed at this level in order to produce lasting change. Transformation occurs when releasing techniques and positive suggestions are accepted by the inner mind, which then releases and replaces unwanted patterns. Willpower and conscious verbal techniques are often ineffective because they engage only the conscious mind and therefore do not access the issue at a sufficiently deep level.
Unlike typical television portrayals of hypnosis, this process is a partnership between the hypnotist and the client. The hypnotist's job is to skillfully assist the client in obtaining complete relaxation. The client has only to open to this experience. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and the client can choose to awaken at any time.
Traditional hypnosis can assist with self-confidence, fears, anger, work or school performance, athletic performance, weight loss, smoking cessation, surgery preparation and recovery (with physician referral), and many other issues. At this time, my practice is primarily focused on transpersonal work (see below), although I occasionally work with smoking and surgery preparation.
Transpersonal work uses some of the same relaxation techniques as traditional hypnosis. However, the transpersonal process is often more appropriate for spiritually-oriented people who are evolving consciously. The hypnotist and client communicate verbally and work with causes in other dimensions of time and space. Transpersonal hypnosis includes past life regression, ancestor or spirit guide communication, some types of energy work and other processes.
In 2003, I completed over 350 hours of hypnosis training, including past life regression, through the PATH Foundationin Kingwood, Texas. The PATH Foundation at that time was operated by Ed Martin, PH.D., and Cheryl Martin, LMSW. This rigorous advanced certification program includes techniques for releasing unwanted patterns and their causes permanently. I also completed a week-long intensive on past life regression with Dr. Brian Weiss in 2009.
Private sessions are available by appointment. Initial sessions are about 90 minutes; subsequent sessions are 60 to 90 minutes depending on the type of work and client preference. (Past life regressions always last 90 minutes.) It is impossible to predict how many sessions will be required for any given situation; that depends on the issue and the client's ability to relax. However, most clients begin to notice changes very quickly.
Fees and Scheduling
Initial hypnosis sessions are $185 and last 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions are 60 minutes ($125) or 90 minutes ($185), depending on the type of work and client preference. (Past life regressions always last 90 minutes). I also offer a package of 4 1/2 hours of time for $500, which can be used for any kind of session (3 month expiration). For example, this package would cover 1 initial hypnosis session and 3 one-hour followups.
New clients are asked to prepay for their first session with PayPal unless we make other arrangements. I accept cash, checks, MC/VISA and PayPal for subsequent sessions. If you wish to buy the 4 1/2 hour package, you can decide that during your first session and we will adjust the finances at that time.
I am in the office Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 to 4:30. Other times can sometimes be scheduled as well.
My specialty is past life regression, a process that uses hypnosis to recover memories of past lives or incarnations.
